Hello Friends,

If I talk in simple words, then whenever we write or search for any word on any search engine to gain any information it is called Keywords. And because of those keywords which we write on search engines, help search engines to get to know which type of specific information the searcher wants. Keywords are quite important in the field of SEO because Keywords play an important role to rank any website. When we enter our keywords according to our query on search engines then the crawler of search engines detects which website is capable of or able to give us information about our searched queries or matching with queries. That means the content on the matched website according to the query helps search engines to rank the website and let them be on the top. That’s why keywords are the main part of SEO

Keyword Research

How many types of keywords ?

There are two types of keywords mainly which are short tail keyword and long tail keyword. But along with this there are many more types of keywords also available like:-

  • Transactional keywords
  • Informational keywords
  • Navigational keywords
  • Commercial keywords
  • Evergreen keywords
  • General keywords
  • LSI keywords

Short Tail Keywords

Short tail keywords are mainly three words only. K.D (Keyword difficulty) is more in this type of keyword as compared to other types of keywords; that’s why it is hard to rank the websites having short tail keywords. Some examples of short tail keywords are – Running shoes, Digital marketing etc. If you use low K.D (Keyword difficulty) keywords as mentioned above, then you can increase the percentage of making your website rank because these types of keywords are mostly used or searched. That’s why you always know about keyword research.

Long tail keywords

Long tail keywords start with three words like: best sports shoes for running. This is a long tail keyword. If we remove the word “best sports shoes” then it will be a short tail keyword. It should always start with a long tail keyword because if you start with a long tail keyword you don’t need to add the short tail keyword separately because it is already included in this. And because of this you can target both types of keywords at the same time. It will help you to rank your website. That’s why keyword research is very important.

Transactional keywords

Transactional Keywords are the keywords in which people use words like Buy, Coupon, Purchase, Cheap, Discount etc. People use these types of keywords when they need to purchase anything. In these types of keywords the intent of the user is always clear that the person wants to purchase something like: Buy new Zara jeans, Cheap price pizza, Buy iPhone 16 etc. All these are transactional keywords, and you need to learn keywords research for this also.

Informational keywords

Informational keywords are the keywords which are used by people to get any information, and they search their query accordingly. In these searches users use a different type of keyword to search, which are: What, How to, Why, Guide, Learn, Where, Who, Ideas, Tips etc. All these keywords are called Informational keywords. Users search all these keywords to get information.

Navigational keywords

When a user or searcher types any keyword to search for any specific place or company then it is called Navigational Keywords. And the motive to search is to get direct access to the website which has the information about that specific searched place or company. Here are some examples to make you understand more about Navigational keywords. The examples are Brand name, Product name, Specific website name, Flipkart login etc. If you use such keywords on your content or blog then there are high chances to get traffic on your website. So I would like to suggest you to use these types of keywords in your blog.

Commercial keywords

Commercial keywords are keywords which show the high chances to buy any product by the searcher. These types of keywords show that the intent of the user is clear that the person is going to purchase a specific thing. Here are some examples of commercial keywords that are: Best running shoes for men, Buy iPhone 16 pro max, Milton water bottle etc. I hope that you all understand that what commercial keywords are.

Evergreen keywords

Evergreen keywords are those keywords whose trend never ends. These keywords never expire. These keywords are always in trends. Come lets understand this with examples- 5 exercises for legs, How to make biryani, weight loss exercises, best destination in Uttarakhand etc. In Hindi these keywords are also known as Evergreen keywords whose season never ends.

LSI keywords (Latent semantic indexing)

LSI keywords relate with main keywords. The full form of LSI keyword is “Latent semantic indexing” keywords in which keywords are different, but it relates to the main keyword. For example, “Mango” It is a main keyword. But we search for Mango juice, Mango shake or Mango pickle then all these are LSI keywords which are related to the main keyword which is mango. The main keyword is mango but other keywords are talking about mango itself. So these keywords are called LSI keywords.

What is keyword research and how to do it ?

Keyword research is a major part and important part of SEO. Whenever we talk about website ranking then understanding the keyword research becomes important for this. As I told you above about the part of keyword and what keywords stand for, now I am going to tell you about keyword research. Whenever we write a blog or article, we need a low competition and high-volume keyword which can help us to rank our website. And for this search on many tools and websites. All this complete process is called keyword research.

There are many paid and free tools for keyword research like Google keyword planner, Semrush, Ubersuggest, Ahrefs, Google Trends and many more. For keyword research you need to take are of four things

  • Keywords Search Volume
  • Keyword Difficulty
  • Cost per click ( CPC )
  • Search Trends

All these four points are very important for keyword research. Come lets have some deep knowledge about all these four points. I will also tell you how you can use these.

Keywords Search Volume

Any keywords having the best search volume will be best automatically. But the keywords which have high volume there are strong chances to have high K.D also. So we need to find keywords having More traffic and Low K.D and for this we can use Semrush or Ahrefs. And if you want to use free of cost tools then you can use Google keyword planner. If we talk about the method then firstly you have to search on google you have to pick LSI keywords and sheek keywords from there and you need to enter the same keywords which you have got from google on Google keyword planner and then you need to check in the tool. You can paste the found keywords in your excel sheet and you can go ahead with the keywords which are suitable for the website. All these suitable keywords you should use in your blog and article.

Keyword Difficulty

Keyword Difficulty tells you about the competition on the keyword which you are using. Higher keyword difficulty means higher competition. If we talk about the good K.D for any keyword then that would be 30. So whenever you are going to do keyword research then you should keep K.D between 30 to 35 not more than this. If the K.D is lower than this then it becomes easier to make your keyword rank.

Cost per click (CPC)

Cost per click (CPC) – Whenever an Ad run happens on your website there is a fixed amount on the Ad. Whenever any user clicks on that Ad which is running on your website then the fix amount is deducted. CPC is used when we run ads on Google.

Search trends

Search trends- Whenever you are using any keyword you should check about the trend of the keyword that it is in trend or not. It is quite possible that the keyword which you are going to use was in trend for the last many years but now it is not. So, if you use such keywords then you will not receive good traffic on your website. Search trends give you information about the searches count of any keywords in the last few years. Along with this search trend also make you understand how you can use that keyword and in which field. You need to keep this in mind when you research keywords.
